How much does a guinea pig weight and measure?

Do you know how much a guinea pig measures and weights?

Guinea pigs, when born, are about 4 inches and weight about 3.5 oz at most, although their weight may vary depending on the number of offsprings at birth. The first days after the birth, as it happens in humans, guinea pigs may lose some weight, but that is normal. They start growing when they are a few days old but when they are around 13 days old, their weight is multiplied and its body length grows too.

Differences between males and females

From the age of one year, one year and a half, they stop growing and it´s now when we can talk about a medium weight between females and males. The male weights between 2.2 lbs and 3.3 lbs and the female does it somewhere between 1.8. and 2.9 lbs. The medium length of a guinea pig is usually about 11 inches.
